
Millets are small seeded cereal available in a wide variety all over the world. These small grains are generally high in fiber, antioxidant,nurtients and protein.But in the run of modernisation we forget some healthy habits and super foods. so let’s know something more about these super food available around us and how we can use it in our babies diet….
1.Finger millets
These are small grains having pale pinkish colour. In India it is known as RAGI. Finger millets are good source of calcium and as we know calcium plays a vital role in developing child bone.

2.Barnyard millets
These millets have a off white colour. In India we called it samvat ke chawal.These millets have full of fiber and a source of iron.
You can give a try to barnyard millets kheer. Also make idly and dosa by mixing barnyard millets with sagoo.
3. KODO MILLETS
kodo millets have a grey colour are a rich source of antioxidant. And the main thing is, it has a very low glycemic index.
By mixing it with moongdal you can make khichdi out of it. Also you can add vegetables of your choice (carrot, curly flowers,beans etc) to the khichdi.
4. PEARL MILLETS
This is a quite famous millets in India know as bajra. As we know bajra ka roti is very important part of Indian cuisine. Bajra and moongdal khichdi also have a good test. These millets are extremely rich in magnesium.
5. FOXTAIL MILLETS
In India it is known as Kangniin. These millets are packed up with vitamin B12. Give a try to foxtail millets upma, foxtail millets tehri , foxtail millets lemon rice. Your baby will definitely love these recipes.
